Southeastern Freight Lines, the leading provider of regional less-than-truckload  transportation services, announced that Brian Schulz has been promoted to regional vice president of operations, overseeing operations for 14 service centers located in Louisiana and Texas. As a 15-year veteran Southeastern employee, Schulz has served successfully in a variety of roles, including management trainee, pick-up and delivery supervisor, operations manager and service center manager for a variety of locations, most recently in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Patrick A. Massey has joined the sports medicine team at The Orthopaedic Clinic, 7925 Youree Dr., in Shreveport. Massey completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at LSU Health in Shreveport and was awarded a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia after graduating from the University of Maryland in Baltimore with a bachelor of science in biology, as well as a bachelor of arts in psychology. Massey has special training and expertise in replacing cartilage using a technique which, in some cases, is an alternative to joint replacement surgery.  

Blanchard, Walker, O’Quin & Roberts welcomed Deann Jewell as business development specialist. In this position, Jewell will support the Blanchard Walker marketing and public relations initiatives including the firm’s online presence, media relations and business development for the firm and individual attorneys. Jewell brings with her eight years experience providing marketing, public relations and advertising services in various industries.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Shreveport/Bossier City located in Bossier City, announced it was recently honored with an award at the brand’s annual awards ceremony that was held in Orlando, Fla. The Homewood Suites Shreveport/Bossier City earned the “2013 Top New Hotel Performance” award. The 114-suite hotel is owned by RT Bossier Partners and managed by Dimension Development Company of Natchitoches. “We are honored to be recognized by the brand in the midst of such a competitive business climate,” said general manager Ray Ferland. The Homewood Suites Shreveport/Bossier City received the award in recognition for quality operations and product, aggressive sales and marketing efforts and a strong performance in 2013.
