PAN-SEARED ELEGANCE AND DEMI-GLACE DINING

Where:

What:

With any visit to Chianti’s, I always start my meal off with a Caesar salad. Crisp lettuce, tangy dressing and flavorful Parmesan cheese, this classic salad is always spot-on here.

I had the 6-ounce beef tenderloin filet Bistecca O Filetto Al Pepe Verde,

which was topped with a rich demiglace cream sauce with shallots and green peppercorns flamed in brandy, served with rosemary pan-seared potatoes and green beans.

And because I can’t say no to their Alfredo sauce (which is quite possibly the best Alfredo sauce in town), I also ordered a side of fettuccine Alfredo, which paired nicely with the filet. My date had the Petto Di Pollo Alla Milanese – a boneless breast of chicken, lightly breaded, sautéed in butter, served in lemon-butter and demi-glace sauce then served with rosemary  pan-seared potatoes and green beans.

Next:

Scaloppine Alla Noce More – It’s Chianti’s signature dish. Veal scaloppini with blackberries and shrimp, sautéed with mushrooms, shallots and roasted almonds, flamed with blackberry brandy, in a rich cream sauce.

Popular:

Tagliolini Verdi Al Prosciutto – Fresh spinach pasta green, tossed with prosciutto ham, mushrooms, demi-glace tomatoes, cream and cheese. With a flavor combination like this, there’s no wonder why this dish is ordered by so many guests. It’s also on my “must try next time” list.

Vibe:

The main dining room has an upscale, intimate feel that’s perfect for a romantic night out or special occasion. The Green Room has a cozy feel, with the great sounds of jazz music wafting through the air. If you like live jazz music, be sure to dine in The Green Room Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights.

Cost:

Appetizers start at $8.95 Pastas start at $17.50 Entrées start at $21.50 Desserts are $6.50, and they’re all delectable. Believe me, I’ve tried them all.

Fun Fact:

There is a wine cellar private dining room that’s available to reserve. It seats up to 10 people, and it’s a great spot for a birthday or anniversary dinner, family gathering or a group of friends having a night out on the town.
