J. Pat Beaird Top Industry of the Year Awards

The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce hosted the J. Pat Beaird Industry of the Year and The Forum Top Businesses of the Year awards luncheon at the Shreveport Convention Center on Sept. 29. The Chamber recognized the banking and credit union business sectors of Shreveport as top industry. More than two dozen financial institutions were spotlighted at the lunch. Those among The Forum Top Businesses were BNB Systems, Cook, Yancey, King & Galloway, Forte & Tablada, Twisted Root Burger and Vintage Design Group. The keynote speaker was Gene Kranz, former flight director for NASA, who shared his experience of dealing with the Apollo 13 mission in 1970.
