New partner, name for established marketing company

One of the only sure things in life is change and after more than 35 years in business, Gremillion Pou Integrated Marketing is changing its name to Romph Pou Agency.

Following Anne Gremillion’s retirement in December 2016, Jeffrey Romph, former vice president of the company, has partnered with co-owner and Shreveport native Robert Pou.

“I’m excited to have Jeffrey Romph as my new partner in this company,” Pou said. “Jeffrey continues to bring new ideas to the table, which will help Romph Pou Agency compete for another 35 years.”

Romph is from Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Kenyon College with an interest in publishing.

“After graduation, I took the first job offered to me – I found my first job in less than three hours – with Cleveland Magazine, in the circulation department,” Romph said. “This started my career interest in database and customer behavior – why did someone renew? Did the cover story attract more subscribers? Which impacts greater subscription renewal rates – lower price or bonus issues?” After two years, Romph decided to follow his interest in the casino entertainment field and accepted a job at Harrah’s Tunica located just south of Memphis.

“I cold-called the human resource director and told him I was going to be in the area and asked him if there were any positions I could consider,” Romph said. “He invited me in; I flew myself down to Tunica, Miss., and within a few hours I accepted the direct marketing manager job and was relocating immediately. Over the next five years, I expanded my role into the analysis and hotel field, which exposed me to more aspects of the casino business.”

Romph temporarily left the casino business to finish his MBA from the University of Memphis and worked at Service Master Corp. Upon completing his MBA, he relocated to Shreveport and joined Gremillion & Pou in 2005. Over the next 12 years, he has attracted and managed numerous casino clients across the country.

Over the past several years, Romph’s involvement has expanded to non-gaming clients, introducing more database services to clients like Brookshire’s and several medical clients.

Gremillion & Pou was founded in 1981 with just two employees and now has more than 100 employees today at offices in Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Tyler, Texas. Clients include the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma (seven casinos including the world’s largest, WinStar World Casino & Resort); Margaritaville Resort; Affinity Gaming (11 casinos); University Health Hospital in Shreveport and Monroe; and New York Presbyterian, a health system with physician staffing at more than 100 locations.

Since Romph joined the agency, the casino and database marketing division has seen the most dramatic change with the design and implementation of SCOR- PIO database system.

“Besides our agency’s incredible team, I’m most proud of SCORPIO,” Romph said. “SCORPIO allows us to apply mathematical models and decision science techniques to client customer data.

SCORPIO is now being used for casino, grocery and health-care clients to target their customer base more efficiently via media and direct marketing tactics.”

SCORPIO enables clients to aggregate multiple databases, promotional, social media and other touch points into one system. The combined data is analyzed and passed through SCORPIO’s predictive and valuation models that empower clients to better align reinvestment rates, media strategy, offer packages and performance expectations for greater value.

“SCORPIO Data Services is the culmination of our capabilities and client needs, which is why we see that service helping us service clients into the next 35 years,” Robert Pou said.
