Taceaux and join Robinson Film Center in celebrating artspace’s Moonbot exhibition! Moonbot cofounder William Joyce and creative director Limbert Fabian will introduce a selection of Moonbot films and answer questions after the 60-minute screening. Afterwards Joyce will do a brief book signing.

Derby Day Festival: The front lawn of the R.W. Norton Art Gallery in historic South Highlands again played host to the second Shreveport Derby Day Festival May 7. More than 1,000 people spent the afternoon enjoying mint juleps, served by Wine Country Bistro & Bottle Shop, and mid-afternoon snacks, provided Rhino Coffee and Buttercups Cupcakes. There was a network of large television screens that displayed the Kentucky Derby race. Rebirth Brass Band from New Orleans provided the musical entertainment.

Best in Sheaux: Robinson’s Rescue hosted their annual fundraiser March 12, Best in Sheaux, at RiverView Hall in downtown Shreveport. Guests enjoyed signature Pink Poodle martinis, first-class cuisine from Southern Fork Catering, and a Westminster-style dog show, which is the only competitive runway dog show in Northwest Louisiana. There was also a large selection of great silent auction gifts and four custom-built dog houses were sold during a live auction.
