Our woody plants (azaleas, camellias, abelia, distylium, sunshine ligustrum ...) took a hit. These plants – although sometimes evergreen – are likely going to defoliate. The brown leaves will fall off. However, we see that most of the woody stems are still green and very much alive.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought all “nonessential” businesses and events to a standstill. At the same time, the need in our community multiplied overnight. Since the spring of 2020, North Louisiana nonprofits have worked tirelessly to help those who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.

It’s the most festive time of the year, and figuring out what holiday feasts and gatherings will look like is challenging, especially during a pandemic. It doesn’t mean celebrations with friends and family can’t happen. It means plans need to be safe and well thought out.
