Masterful works in glass showcased

This summer you can see everything through rose-colored glasses! The exhibit, featuring the Texas Contemporary Glass Exhibition, and curated by international awardwinning Northwest Louisiana glass artist Eric Hess, opens with a free reception on Friday, June 7, from 5-8 p.m. at artspace at 708 Texas St. The exhibition showcases 29 Texas glass artists exhibiting more than 40 works made from 1950 to the present in MainSpace@artspace. The contemporary glass art of Hess and business partner and co-founder of Sanctuary Arts School (SAS), Michelle Pennington, will be exhibited on the mezzanine in artspace. Louisiana glass artists Mitchell Gaudet and James Vella and North Carolina glass artist Terri Sigler will give public demonstrations and artists’ talks in June, July and August. Hosted by Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Eric Hess and Sanctuary Arts School. www.artspaceshreveport.com.
