New funky, upbeat eatery to debut this fall

An exciting new eatery will open its doors on a new concept this fall.

is an offshoot of The Revenir restaurant located within the Every Man a King Distillery in downtown Shreveport. Chef owners Allison Gras and Brad Jones say the target atmosphere in Cypress by the Revenir is relaxed, funky and upbeat. Farm-to-table southern-inspired tapas – small plates with southern ingredients and flavor profiles – will be on the menu. “Shreveport and the surrounding areas have so much good local meat and produce. We want to showcase it,” said Gras.

Located inside the former Bistro Byronz location at 6104 Line Ave., Cypress by the Revenir is co-owned by the chefs’ business partners, Dr. Lindsey Pennington and Dr. Andrew Larsen. Plans for the building include the extension of the patio to the back parking lot, as well as the addition of an outdoor bar and lounge behind the building.

The interior of the building is being gutted and remodeled to showcase 19-foot ceilings and reveal windows previously hidden by a drop ceiling. A bar/ lounge section will feature a 19-foot back bar with a library ladder. Jones says they’ve consulted with a bar company called Death & Co. known for its dark, moody speakeasy vibes. “We’re going to have really amazing craft cocktails, amazing wine and craft beer. We hope to have a wine list of 150 different bottles,” said Gras.

A chef’s table private dining room will seat 12 and can be reserved for special gatherings. Gras says the chefs will prepare five to 10 off-the-menu courses for diners. A portion of the room will house a wine cellar.

The restaurant will also include a full to-go center. “I feel that with everything that happened with Covid, so many people want to continue being able to pick up their food, take it home and eat in the comfort of their own home,” said Gras.

Gras and Jones are excited about the location of their latest venture. “We love what the other restaurants in this area are doing and how busy this area is. It’s a perfect universal location,” said Gras.
