“Charles Beaird, Pat’s brother, was our original investor, backer and professional mentor to me for many, many years,” Alexander said. “We were partners for a long time. I’ve been associated with the Beaird family for all these years. It even goes back to when my father was minister of First Presbyterian Church.

Students are also supported throughout their high school career by Glad Alexander, college placement director; Susan Hymel, director of guidance and counseling; and Stephanie Johnson, assistant principal of academics. These three women provide personal accommodations to each student at Loyola and prepare them for college.

The Better Business Bureau recently announced its 2019 Torch Award winners. The awards honor companies that meet the highest standards of ethics and demonstrate trust among their employees, customers and the community. The company leaders also must demonstrate a high level of personal character.

Alexander and Brokenberry are the designers, marketers, models and makers of these unique ties. Both are fashion-conscience and each was wearing one of their designs as they gave a presentation at 1 Million Cups at Cohab.
