Popular brewery joins the East Bank gang

“Brew is co-produced by Mudbug Madness and Red River Revel, the two premier festivals in North Louisiana,” said Terri Matthews, executive director of Downtown Shreveport Unlimited.

“We would go to festivals, competitions and different home brewery events around not just Louisiana, but Texas and all over the country,” Cardenas said. “We ended up winning some awards with our beers. We decided that maybe, one day, we could start a brewery.

Flying Heart Brewing & Pub is a craft brewery and restaurant that manufactures craft beer recipes on site, as well as root beer and ginger beer. There is seating capacity for 275 people, including inside as well as a covered beer garden in the newly renovated downtown Bossier City.

“It’s a beautiful historic building with a rich history that acts as a kind of gateway to downtown,” said co-owner and founder, Beau Raines. “After looking everywhere from Benton to Robson Road, we were fortunate to land this location. We’re happy to call it home.
