The Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission is set to host the U.S. Team Nationals Hot Air Balloon Championship, June 9-13, and the CenterPoint Energy Red River Balloon Rally presented by the Louisiana Office of Tourism, June 11-12 on the campus of LSU Shreveport.

Every spring before the pandemic, Bossier City and Shreveport residents craned their necks to catch a glimpse of the military aircraft gamboling across the skies in the annual Barksdale Air Force Base Air Show.

“Metro Aviation is one of our city’s hidden gems,” said Dr. Timothy Magner, president of the Chamber. “They are the largest air medical completion center not just in Louisiana, not just in the U. S., but in the world as well as the largest traditional air medical provider.
