Go Red: The annual Go Red for Women Luncheon was hosted by the Northwest Louisiana American Heart Association on Feb. 18 at the Shreveport Convention Center. The luncheon provided activities that were educational and encouraging to influential men and women who could possibly become champions of heart and stroke health and prevention.

Sci-Port honors dynamic duos at New Year’s Eve celebration

There’s no better way to celebrate New Year’s Eve than a celebration of some of the community’s best and brightest science supporters at Toast – A Night of Dynamic Duos at Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center. From 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Dec. 31, corks will pop at Sci- Port to raise funds for a second museum addition and to honor some very special pairs.

Bravo!: In July, the Shreveport Little Theatre hosted its 14th annual Bravo! Awards with more than 100 people on hand. Awards like Best Mainstage Production went to “The Addams Family,” Best Actor in a Featured Role went to Sloan Folmer and Best Actress in a Featured Role went to Debbie Posey. Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant provided the delicious dinner for the event.

Robinson’s Rescue to name top dog at show

The annual event will be 6:30 to 10 p.m. March 7 at RiverView Hall in Shreveport. All proceeds from the event go toward continuing Robinson’s Rescue’s mission of reducing the overpopulation and euthanasia of cat and dogs in our area through low-cost spay and neuter services.
