Art admirers now have another gallery to admire and purchase art in downtown Shreveport.

Nader’s Gallery announced the grand opening of its satellite gallery located in the Atrium at Regions Tower, at 333 Texas St.

Siblings Edward Nader Jr. and Margaret Nader Love celebrated their 32nd year of business together this past February. The gallery was established in 1969 and was purchased by the siblings in 1983. The business offers art, picture framing, accessories and gifts in a 10,000-square-foot showroom at the intersection of East Kings Highway and Youree Drive, the gallery’s original and main location. The original size of the gallery when the siblings started was just more than 1,000 square feet but with the commitment to hard work and strong customer service, the gallery is now more than 10,000 square feet.

The opening of the additional gallery space in the Regions Tower allows the gallery to showcase its collection of local, regional and international works of art and contemporary furnishings in an alternative, intimate setting for customers. “The new gallery gives the downtown community an opportunity to view work and get a sampling of what we offer in our main location,” Edward said.

“The gallery is impressive and adds to the prestige of our lobby. I have had several positive comments from our tenants,” Forrest Fegert, senior property manager, said.

Edward said he is taking an unconventional approach to how the gallery conducts business.

All price tags, not only have the information about the artwork (sizes, prices, medium), but also provide a QR code, which can be scanned with any smart phone placing the interested party on a Web page for that particular item. From there, customers can click to call and buy the item or email the link to a friend. This is just another example of the innovation that Nader’s has displayed for the past three decades.

“This gallery gives us a great opportunity to showcase items from every price point,” Edward said. He said many offices are skeptical about calling a gallery to consult with, but being able to see original paintings 3-by-4 feet for $400 framed takes the intimidation factor out of shopping in a gallery to update an office space.

“It’s amazing what one small piece can do to update your office or home,” Margaret Love, co-owner of Nader’s, said.

A number of businesses inside of the Regions Tower said they are happy to see Nader’s fill the space with art.

“We are so excited to see Nader’s Gallery in our building. Edward and Margaret are dear friends, and we greatly appreciate their contribution to making the premier downtown location even better. It is like walking through an art gallery,” Denis Poljak, senior vice president at Morgan Stanley, said.

Edward and Margaret said with the downtown gallery, clients will be encouraged to visit the main location housing an incredible selection of art and home accessories.
