THROUGH DEC. 11: “FIRED UP,” The art faculty at Bossier Parish Community College presents this new exhibit at the Donna Service Gallery featuring the works of Northwest Louisiana ceramicists. The exhibition features 45 ceramic works by 11 artists from the region in the Donna Service Gallery located on the first floor of Building A on the BPCC campus, 6220 E. Texas St., Bossier City.

DEC. 12: HEART THE ART BIZARRE STREET PARTY, The Bossier Arts Council and Flying Heart Brewery present this fun event to include live music, food trucks, art vendors, activities, and an outdoor movie 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Barksdale Blvd. in front of BAC and Flying Heart Brewery.

DEC. 17-JAn. 15: “PEARLS BEFORE SWInE” ARTIST RECEPTIOn, The Agora Borealis in Downtown Shreveport is hosting Pearls before Swine, an artist reception for artist Megan Davis Taylor from 4 to 7 p.m. Representatives from Splash Kingdom Waterpark will also be at the Agora from 2 to 5 p.m. offering a discount price of $69+tax on 2016 season passes, and giving out door prizes including a free season pass. This is a family fun event and free to the public. Join the Agora Borealis in honoring artist Megan Davis Taylor and her pet pig “Jasper” who will perform tricks and posing for photos. Libations and light hor d’ oeuvre‘s of wild boar will be served. Taylor’s work is a celebration of the various and wonderful animals and wildlife of Northwest Louisiana.

DEC. 18: “COSMIC COWGIRLS” FASHIOn SHOW, Ann Chandler of “Ann Collections” created this show that will feature her designs and a brand new Marlene Tseng Yu inspired dresses and selection from the Cioa Bella Boutique. Seating will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. at Marlene Yu Museum and Rainforest Art Foundation, located at 710 Travis St., Shreveport. Tickets are $10 and available now. THROUGH DEC. 19: “FROM FLOWERS TO FORM: ART INSPIRED BY MATHEMATICS,” by Harriet Stone Evans illuminates the mathematical elements in art. Experience the power of geometry and algebra as art forms through the interactive artworks. The artspace interactive exhibition has been presented at the Museum of Science in Boston and the Louisiana Children’s Museum in New Orleans. Tours will be led by Evans and professional leading area artists.

THROUGH DEC. 29: “MUSING OF MACROCOSM” BY MARY LOUISE PORTER, A contemporary landscape painter, inspired by the universe, the world, the landscapes she has been to. This award winning La. Roster Artist brings her work to Norsworthy Gallery, located at 214 Texas Street, Shreveport. Cara Derrick will read some backstories for some of the paintings during the reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 12.
