Joyeaux Noel!
When Monroe artist and designer Clinton Whitney Downing’s talents are called on to make an impression for his clients and friends, he can be depended on to do just that. This time of year brings out the designer’s most colorful toolbox. Downing is no one-trick pony as his custom designs are a reflection of the home’s style and the personality of the homeowner. Whether traditional, artistic, grand, or if something more playful is desired, he can make it happen. Fantasy is his middle name!
Downing and his crew at Clinton Whitney Downing Design Group are quite impressive. Transformations happen in the twinkle of an eye, but make no mistake, it’s hard work and they produce a whole lotta Christmas in a short few weeks.
Whether decorating a mantel, your entrance way, or your entire house, Clinton will have a fresh idea just for you.
• Fresh boughs of cedar and subtle ornaments keep it elegant in this living area (above).
• Topiaries (center right) reach for the stars and tie in Christmas greenery such as magnolia leaves with a touch of twinkle.
• Cotton bolls and twigs with evergreens and metallic orbs accentuate this entrance to fairy-like effect.
With children in mind, a tree in red and white will attract the kid in everyone.
Downing’s use of branches and fairy lights is something we hope you take inspiration from. Put your own twist on it and involve the family for a fun day.
The tree is designed to complement the artwork.
Fresh cedar garlands with clusters of hydrangeas and amaryllis blooms create a bold and inviting entrance.
A rustic mantel is warmly dressed with greenery and subtle gold and silver accents.
Ambitious? It’s OK to touch the ceiling! This peacock accented tree in gold and white is dazzling.
Dazzling orbs of gold and silver (top) seem to be suspended in air and make a huge statement above this simple entrance.
