Riverfront restaurant kicking up the taste level, dining experience

is bringing some delicious flavors to summer. Located inside the Shreveport Aquarium at 601 Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport, SALT is a local favorite featuring a wide variety of cuisine. Even better – you can visit a few sharks and pet a few stingrays after lunch!

Libby Patterson Smith, chef and kitchen manager, has worked for the café since March 2019. “My favorite part of working at SALT is being part of an amazingly talented team of people in one of the most beautiful spaces in Shreveport,” Smith said.

“SALT is one of a few establishments that is committed to supporting local farmers, growers and producers,” Smith said. “We strive to educate our patrons about the importance of buying regionally harvested seafood from the Louisiana Gulf for its superior quality and sustainable fishing practices.”

There are some seriously tasty items on the menu, including a new brunch menu featured on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch options include The Berry, complete with artisanal bread, local goat cheese and honey, toasted Louisiana pecans and fresh fruit. There’s also The Cowboy, a steak and eggs classic.

“My personal favorite is the new veggie burger made with smoked mushrooms and walnuts,” Smith said. Customer favorites include Shrimp Flatbread, Salt Classic Burger, the Kitchen Sink Burger, Poutine (hand-cut, double-cooked fries covered in duck gravy with cheese curds), and Chicken and Chips. “We also have an incredible cocktail menu!” Smith added.

SALT is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays until 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.saltshreveport. com or find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/saltshreveport/.
