Resale shop finds home at 109 Kings Hwy.

The YWCA’s Resale Shop moves from Mall St. Vincent to 109 Kings Highway. “This location has a lot more useable space and storage space,” said YWCA board member and volunteer Penny Durham. “We have more customers and visibility here.”

Donations of women’s, teens’ and children’s clothing and shoes, purses, accessories, jewelry, giftware, home décor and small home furnishings are accepted on-site.

“This is about supporting [the YWCA’s] mission and raising funds to support its programs,” said volunteer Rachel Scott.

Programs include counseling for traumatized women and teen girls, legal education and workshops, parent education and support, leadership skills, and empowerment. Racial justice programming includes six-week Dialogue on Race sessions.

Durham and Scott are excited about the shop’s new location. “We think this is something that’s really going to help the YWCA be able to expand and develop new programs,” said Scott.

To donate or volunteer, call (318) 606-4986. The shop is open Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
