Meet the 2023 Minority Business Opportunity Awards Honorees

Each year the Business Development Connection of the Greater Shreveport Chamber celebrates outstanding business owners and professionals who are making a difference in our community through the Minority Business Opportunity Awards, presented by Willis-Knighton Health System. These awards celebrate the tenacity, innovation and diversity that exist in the Shreveport-Bossier business community and highlight the leadership and passion that drives local entrepreneurs to build businesses of substance and impact. As you will see in the following pages, this year’s honorees are no exception.

We are delighted to be honoring outgoing Caddo Parish Administrator Dr. Woody Wilson as our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for his extensive service to our nation and our community. This award recognizes an individual who, throughout their long career, consistently exemplifies the highest standard of professional excellence and has dedicated many years to providing service to our community.

We will also name Willis-Knighton Health System as our Business of the Year recipient for their tireless commitment to the health of our community and their extensive support for education, public safety, health care and quality of life. This award recognizes those businesses in our community that create opportunities for minority individuals and has a strong philanthropic commitment to the region.

This year’s class of honorees for our Emerging Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year and Top Business and Non-Profit Professionals of the Year include a rich tapestry of restauranters, builders, designers and entrepreneurs as well as educators and non-profit executives, to name but a few. Each of these individuals represents a relentless spirit and drive to expand opportunities for others and contribute to improving our community.
