Geaux 4 Kids held its annual luncheon benefit, May the Force be With You, on May 3 at East Ridge Country Club, with “Star Wars” characters milling around the ballroom. Jimmy Wayne, a country music star and a foster child himself, sang “Sara Smile” and told his personal story. Other guest speakers were Miricale Hall, Jessica Pittman and David Matlock, Louisiana Secretary of the Department of Children and Family Service. Kelly Orgeron, statewide advisory board president, helped present volunteer awards.
