Go Red for Women turned 20 and celebrated with a luncheon and health screenings on May 21 at the Shreveport Convention Center. CHRISTUS Health System did hands-only CPR demonstrations, blood pressure screenings, glucose testing, cholesterol and metabolic syndrome education and had the in-body scanner and review of results by a clinician. Robin Merkle, president of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, hosted the Ninth Annual Cupcakes for a Cause on April 28. Around 150 ladies collected $750 in monetary donations and 6,000 laundry pods. La’Mionnie’s provided the cupcakes, and Holy Angels provided the ice cream.
