New business opens near Lofts location downtown

Seasons Salon and Events, located at 624 Texas St., is matching up with the growing local businesses in downtown Shreveport. Offering not only beauty and salon services, Seasons is catering to residents in need of a venue to host parties, gatherings and other events.

Trish Jones, co-owner, event coordinator and makeup artist for Seasons, is very excited about the future of the shop.

“At Seasons, we offer everything you could possibly need to get ready for your event – as well as offer a space to host your event!” Jones said. “We can plan your party, do your hair and makeup, provide the rentals, decorations, catering and then even clean up after.”

Seasons is a Paul-Mitchell-certified full-service salon, with an in-house esthetician offering facials, skin care consultations, microdermabrasion and lash extensions.

“We also offer spray tanning and airbrushed makeup, along with makeup classes,” Jones said.

Jones, who has been a certified makeup artist for 12 years and an event planner for eight, absolutely loves her job.

“Opening Seasons Salon with my partner, Nicole McGaha, is a dream come true for both of us!” Jones said.

The two women have known each other for almost a decade.

“Nicole has been a hairdresser for 11 years,” Jones said. “We got to know each other working various events together.

One day, we realized we had a shared dream of opening an upscale salon and events center.”

Now Jones and McGaha have been working together toward their mutual goal and are now seeing success. “We’ve brought our dream to reality with the opening of Seasons!” Jones said.

“Everyone on our staff has a minimum of five years experience,” she said. “We pride ourselves on the quality of our work.”

Seasons is unique from other local salons in that it not only offers upscale, quality beauty services, it offers rental space for parties and various events.

“We have a dedicated event space available for rent,” Jones said. “Whether you’d like a small party of just a few people, or you’d like a larger party of 30-40 people, we can accommodate your needs.”

Seasons Salons provides a variety of packages for their event space, from the very basic (just the space) to full service.

“We can help you plan your event; provide catering with a variety of menus to choose from, provides bar services, photography, valet services, wait staff, decorations, entertainment and of course clean up after!” Jones said.

So far, Seasons has hosted birthday parties for guests of all ages, from 5 to 50. Whether you’re playing dress up or just wanting to glam up, there’s truly something available for every occasion worth celebrating.

“We’ve hosted several girls-nightout events, anniversary parties, bridal showers, baby showers, bachelorette parties and pamper parties, where we provide hair, makeup, spray tan packages,” Jones said. “We’ve even held a few guys night out parties! We have a licensed barber on staff that specializes in straight razor shaves.”

Jones said though they are a new business in downtown Shreveport, as a business owner she is committed to the community.

“First responders such police, fire and military receive $5 haircuts from our stylist,” Jones said. “It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ for all they do for Shreveport-Bossier City and the surrounding area.”

Seasons is located at 624 Texas Street in Shreveport and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, but events must be made by reservation.
