The Better Business Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2016 Annual Torch Awards. Businesses will be recognized in four categories: Integrity category (practicing integrity in the marketplace), Customer Commitment category (businesses that have an outstanding customer service program), Good Neighbor category (businesses and their employees that play a significant role in support of local organizations and charities) and Not-For-Profit category (not-for-profit organizations).

The Torch Award Banquet will be on Oct. 20 at East Ridge Country Club, Shreveport. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner and presentation of awards. The BBB will also honor the recipients of scholarships for students majoring in business from Louisiana State University-Shreveport, Centenary College, Southern University-Shreveport, Bossier Parish Community College, Northwestern State University and Louisiana Tech University. The featured speaker will be Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator.

Kalmbach Smith Meadows welcomes two new team members, Danielle Fauber and Kirk Reedstrom, to their graphics department.

Fauber is responsible for daily account design, web development and multi-media graphics. She graduated from LSU-Shreveport with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis in graphic design and concentration in digital arts.

Reedstrom, a graphic designer, manages clients’ daily print ads, web site development, social media and multi-media graphics. He is a graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana.

D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc., America’s oldest brewery, is expanding the distribution of its brands to Louisiana. Locally owned Eagle Distributing of Shreveport is one of only four wholesalers in the state that will offer Yuengling. Eagle is a beverage distributor that serves Shreveport and nearby parishes.

The August rollout will include Yuengling’s flagship beer, Yuengling Traditional Lager, as well as Light Lager and Black & Tan brands. Soon after, Yuengling will release its seasonal portfolio to the Louisiana market.

McGrew is a graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology. Previously, McGrew worked as a furniture designer and fabricator for W. Alexander Design. Comegys joins the brokerage and leasing team as a licensed commercial Realtor. Previously, she was the development and special event manager at Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center.
