Tempo Eatery Offers New Take On Diners

Ready to impress all tastes, types and palates

Megan Chavez, owner and executive chef for Tempo Eatery, loves feeding the stomachs – and the hearts – of the Ark-La-Tex.

Since January 2019, Chavez, alongside chefs Jessica Lewis and Aaron Ehrle, has been creating unique dishes that please all palates. “We create a fun, family environment where everyone is happy and satisfied,” Chavez said.

Tempo Eatery serves farm-to-tablestyle renditions on diner classics and made-from-scratch bread, sauces, pasta and pastries. Some samplings include the BBQ chicken flatbread, smoked gouda polenta grits, oven-roasted half chicken over creamed organic spinach and roasted potatoes, and the newly listed avocado ceviche boat – fresh Argentine red shrimp, crisp watermelon, ripe tomatoes and more, all tucked inside a perfectly ripe avocado.

Tempo Eatery also provides a selection of desserts, such as lemon poppy seed ice cream, gluten-free double chocolate brownies, and the new summer favorite – flaming campfire s’mores.

“My favorite part of my job is sharing creative comfort food with everyone,” Chavez said.

They provide quality ingredients and locally sourced produce, and on top of that, the location is convenient for downtown employees to be able to enjoy a fantastic meal and get back to work on time during their lunch hour.

Not only does Tempo Eatery offer unique dishes and a little something for everyone, where else can you go sit and eat delicious cuisine while watching private jets take off every day?

“People should come give Tempo Eatery a try because we serve local food with a serious twist!” Chavez said. “Trust the chef – and have your palate ready!” Opening a restaurant in an airport didn’t come without surprises for

Chavez, to say the least. “The details along the way surprised me the most,” Chavez said. “It’s all in the details, at least for us. The hours it takes for prep is just insane. We make everything from scratch, so we have more prep hours than we have actual hours open!” But despite the hectic schedule and hard work, Chavez can’t imagine doing anything else. Not only does she love food, she loves people. “From the pickiest eater to the hardcore gorger … from the strict diet to the ‘see food’ diet, everyone can eat what they want at Tempo Eatery and eat it how they want it,” Chavez said. “We cater to all needs!” Chavez hopes to expand to multiple airports over the next several years.

Tempo Eatery is located at 1550 Airport Drive in Shreveport and is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.tempoeatery.com or find them on Facebook at Tempo Eatery SBC.
