Taco Wars returns bigger, bolder and spicier

The region’s only taco and salsa festival and competition, Taco Wars, is back and better than ever. The festival, presented by Modelo, Jose Cuervo, Maestro Dobel and the Prize Foundation, will return on Saturday, April 30, from 12 to 8 p.m. outside the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium along Elvis Presley Avenue.

The festival is free to the public and family-friendly, and it will feature local taquerias battling it out for the coveted Golden Taco (Best Taco) and Golden Molcajete (Best Salsa). All attendees will receive voting tokens upon entry to the festival. All competing taquerias will sell their tacos to a hungry crowd and provide free chips and salsa samples to attendees.

The event will feature live performances by local band Grupo ReMiFa and headliner Tropical Panama. While music, activities and chips and salsa are free to attendees, all food and beverages purchases will be made using tickets. These tickets will be available for purchase at the festival and will also be available for advance purchase in bundles of 10. A VIP experience will also be available for sale. Ninety percent of food sales will go directly to the taquerias and food vendors.
