History Hunters share original and colorized images

Twin Blends: Northwest Louisiana History Hunters Mark and Mike Mangham share highlights from the 1955 Balloon Parade held in downtown Shreveport with our readers. Obtained from the Northwest Louisiana Archives at LSUS, some images have been colorized by the pros at Twin Blends.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the holidays without a parade: The parade was held in downtown Shreveport on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and according to the attached newspaper article, there were 60,000 people in attendance. The men had to reread the article because they couldn’t believe the number. That’s incredible!
