Nestled in the historic neighborhood on Highland Avenue, Oakwood Home for Women is the only recovery home for women in Shreveport-Bossier that operates as a halfway house. Ritchie said that it is a place of safety and security for women who wish to rebuild their lives from alcoholism and addiction.

That’s what the children who are cared for by Shriners Hospitals for Children – Shreveport do every day: imagining how their life will be and achieving what some thought impossible. On May 11, the Imagine Achieve Believe Gala benefitting Shriners Shreveport will raise money so that more children’s dreams can become a reality.
