Called Shield™, the test checks for DNA changes that signify the presence of tumors. It is the first blood test approved for primary screening in adults ages 45 and older who are at average risk for colorectal cancer. Before the launch of Shield, only one other blood test (Epi proColon®) was approved in 2016.
