Excessive rain sidelined last year’s Parade home, but Jim Fine Custom Homes ensured the foundation for this year’s home was poured and the house completed in less than five months – despite the rain. Fine credits his dedicated subcontractors for their efficiency and remarkable work.

McElwee is known for his work as former partner and executive chef at Bella Fresca as well as his time at the Cambridge Club, Jack Binion’s Steak House, the Vintage Steakhouse and others. Joining him at Tejas are chef Paul Poe and manager Taylor Morgan, both of whom he has worked closely with at previous restaurants.

Persian-born Hooshang Khorasani left his home country to spend about 10 years in southern Spain, where he worked as a graphic designer and also in interior design. While visiting his brother in Ruston, he met Sallie Rose Hollis, who would become his wife in 1992.
