Segue, a group of five companies that are part of the Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP), is licensing technologies from area universities. Those assets are advancing medical research and commercializing North Louisiana’s academic and research assets.

Tony Simpson, chief operations officer, said that phase one of the project is nearing completion. Phase one includes demolition, new walls, floors and floor joists, and a new roof. He said Wieland Construction, the contractor on the project, expects phase one to be complete in mid-November, barring any unforeseen delays.

Age-related  hearing loss, known as presbycusis, is the gradual loss of hearing with increased age due to permanent changes of the inner ear and brain. It is one of the most common conditions affecting aging adults.

“These are artists who are not in galleries – not famous – that may think they are not good enough or strong enough to be in the Revel as a regular artist. We are offering for them to come here and display their art and test the waters of the market.”.

One has good news for caregivers, particularly spouses and other family members, who often can struggle to communicate with a loved one who’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The study examined how caregivers can improve their communication skills when taking care of a family members suffering from the disease.
