Bella Fresca Bistro, located near Twelve Oaks at 608 Absinthe Court in Shreveport, is an offspring to Bella Fresca owned by Zoran Tomic. After years of working in the restaurant industry, Tomic took over Bella Fresca and in 2013 opened Bella Fresca Bistro.

Though G’Marie’s, located at 2130 Greenwood Road, has only been open since November, the restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch, has plenty of regulars that pop in almost daily to enjoy the specials or their own favorites on the menu. Breakfast is served 6 to 11 a.

“The goal and concept around the menu was regional comfort food. [In Shreveport- Bossier City], we are kind of stuck between the Texas style and the South Louisiana style.

Moving customers from sweet to savory takes one whiff of the smoky scent filling the coffeehouse causing many to catch a craving for meat. The meat is the chicken laying out peacefully with pecan wood, which Bolling said is more subtle than smoking with hickory.
