It’s a daunting challenge given that Louisiana ranks among the worst states in nearly every health measure, but there are three of us locally who are energized by our roles in this statewide effort to improve the lives of literally tens of thousands of Louisiana residents.

Holy Angels Residential Facility has provided health and human services and job training for adults with intellectual and developmental delays for over 50 years, but it has recently answered the call to provide services for children living in the community who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Sci-Port is not closing. You may have seen reports about our recent audit. Sci-Port struggles as many nonprofits do, and a depleted economy does not help. We rely heavily on grant funding and donations to function.
