Free skin cancer screenings

Dermatologists at Ark-La-Tex Dermatology will participate in Melanoma Monday on May 1 as part of Melanoma Awareness Month.

Josephine Futrell, M.D., Ph.D., Sarah Baker, M.D., and Sarah Glorioso, M.D. each year offer free screenings at both Ark- La-Tex Dermatology locations to promote the importance of early detection of skin cancer. The screening involves a brief visual check with a physician.

Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, can be effectively treated when identified at an early stage.

Screenings will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Ark-La-Tex Dermatology’s Bossier City office, 2300 Hospital Drive, Suite 400.

Screenings will be from 8 a.m. to noon in the Shreveport office, 1811 East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 160.
