Bayou Teepees can make your child’s next party special and hassle-free

Getting your beauty sleep has never looked so good! With Bayou Teepees, slumber parties, birthday parties or “just-because” parties are taken to the next level of unforgettable. The best part is, all parents have to do is pick a theme and stand aside while Bayou Teepees puts together an experience their child will not soon forget.

Acqunetta Woods, owner of Bayou Teepees, loves her job. She’s always enjoyed working with children and formed the company after seeing a similar idea on social media. “I thought this would be a new, cool and unique way for kids in our area to celebrate their birthday, school breaks, or simply create a reason to have friends over!” Wood said.

Bayou Teepees, which opened in November 2018, has set up 60 slumber parties so far and are quickly booking more as the year progresses. They set up parties all over northern Louisiana, including Monroe, Minden, Shreveport, Bossier and Stonewall – even going as far as Lafayette one weekend. A travel fee is required for a party outside of 35 miles.

Each package includes teepees, fitted sheets, lap trays with decor, decorative pillows, blankets, sleeping pillows and personalized sleep-masks. Packages start at $125 and progress as follows:

BFF package: 2 teepees

Geaux Small: 4 teepees

Geaux Big: 6 teepees

Geaux Mega: 10 teepees

“With each package comes delivery, setup and next day pickup,” Woods said. “We simply ask that the space is clear before arrival, and then we handle the rest.”

If that wasn’t fun enough, add-ons are also available to personalize each party even further. “We offer additional items such as personalized robes, T-shirts, rugs, personalized plates, personalized cups, photo booth frames, fairy lights and personalized pillowcases,” Woods said. “If there is something you would like that is not included in the package or as an add-on, let us know, and we will do our best to make it happen!” Bayou Teepees is a great deal for parents who want to go all out for their child’s party, but don’t have the time or the creativity to invest in the work themselves.

“Parents absolutely love the idea of a teepee slumber party because it is unique, memorable and hassle-free,” Wood said. “The hassle-free part is what sells them on the idea. Several parents have shared how they are no longer interested in doing big parties that cost a lot of money and require a lot of work. With our services, all they have to do is book the party and then maybe move the furniture. We do all the hard work.”

But she couldn’t do it all alone. Woods’ husband is her handy co-owner and assistant. “My husband is responsible for helping with setup, pickup and some of the day-to-day tasks,” Woods explained. “It’s such an awesome opportunity for us to spend time together outside of our busy work schedules.”

Woods’ favorite part of her job is seeing the birthday child and their friends react to the big setup. “I’ve actually seen kids cry because they were so excited,” Woods said. “I’ve gotten countless hugs and thank you’s from the party guests and the parents!” Woods also appreciates how starting her business has allowed her to meet some amazing people and spread joy all over the Ark-La-Tex. “It’s so fun to put smiles on so many kids’ faces,” Woods said.
