For the past 17 years, the Greater Shreveport Chamber’s Young Professionals Initiative (YPI) has recognized Shreveport-Bossier’s top 40 young businessmen and women at the 40 Under Forty Awards Gala. These awards profile Northwest Louisiana’s outstanding young entrepreneurs, executives, managers and professionals in public, private or non-profit sectors. Winners are chosen based on such values as achievement, experience and innovation, vision, leadership and community involvement.

YPI exists to create a network of community leaders under the age of 40 to enhance the development of Northwest Louisiana for the attraction and retention of young professionals in our region.

The 40 Under Forty awards ceremony is YPI’s signature event. The evening gala brings together 40 outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 along with family, friends and supporters for recognition and celebration. In addition, one individual is selected from the class to be named the Top Young Professional of the Year.

The 40 Under Forty Awards are held each December, but nominations are open NOW! If you know a young professional under 40 who deserves to be recognized and celebrated for their hard work and community commitment, nominations can be made online at the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce website at https://www.shreveportchamber.org/youngprofessionals-initiative/. Nominations will close on May 12.

The 17th Annual 40 Under Forty Awards Gala will be held Friday, Dec. 1, at Sam’s Towns Hotel & Casino starting at 6:30 in the evening.

The Chamber is proud that our mission and development programs have been part of the foundation for numerous professionals in our region. Many of today’s leaders in Shreveport and Bossier participated in Chamber programs such as Leadership Shreveport or were recognized as 40 Under Forty class members. Through our annual awards programs, the Chamber recognizes those who are making a difference in our region. By highlighting the people and organizations dedicated to our community, we hope to inspire others to help us make our community the best it can be.
