Corrections and Clarifications

In our Nov. 4-17 edition of 318 Forum, we failed to identify these health organizations properly. OLHS (Ochsner LSU Health System) is the collaboration between LSU and Ochsner that runs the hospitals.

It is an independent entity from LSU Health Shreveport and from the Ochsner Health System. The following paragraph has been corrected. We apologize for the error.

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Enters Stage

One of the more promising additions to this region of late has been the entrance of the Ochsner Health System into north Louisiana. Ochsner formed a 50/50 partnership with the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and took over operations of the LSU teaching hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe in 2018 and also reopened the previously closed CHRISTUS Schumpert Hospital under the name St. Mary Medical Center. Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport (OLHS) has already created 133 jobs at the latter facility. Over the next two years, OLHS plans to spend $56 million on these two Shreveport hospitals and add 425 nicepaying jobs in the MSA.
