THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS: NORTON ART GALLERY PRIVATE TOURS now open to the public on a limited basis. On Thursdays two tours available: 10 a.m., “A Family Tour,” focusing on exploring the museum from a child’s point of view, and at 11:15 a.m., adult tours, visiting a different part of the museum’s permanent collection each week. THROUGH MAY 22: CRITICAL MASS 9 is on display at artspace. This body of work by over 100 artists was submitted for audience appreciation and critics review. THROUGH SEPT. 25: BOSSIER ARTS COUNCIL is hosting their popular artists' call for a third time, “Contained Cubed,” the 12” x 12” show. Local artists can submit their works for this exhibition, and all works will be sold for $50. Artwork submitted will be juried by an anonymous gallery panel. $10 submission fee for non-members. Free submission for BAC members/students/military (must provide valid ID). All completed works must be dropped off by Sept. 25 at Bossier Arts Council, 630 Barksdale Blvd. Artworks will be on display in the East Bank Gallery from Oct. 1 until Nov. 30. MAY 8: CHALK IS CHEAP. Bossier Arts Council and the East Bank District and Plaza will host the first-ever “Chalk is Cheap: Chalk Art Challenge!” Family event, pet friendly. Teams register at https://forms.gle/ fVnn5gNUZ8LP2xdr5 ($35 per team) and will receive a 10' x 10' spot to create. Chalk will be provided to each registered team or you may bring your own. JULY 20-24: CHARACTER CREATION CAMP. The Bossier Arts Council has teamed up will local artist Alex Richardson of Dasuq Arts to teach your kiddos the ins and outs of character design. Starting with brainstorming sessions and ending with mini art reception for all campers on Saturday, July 24, at 12 p.m. Each camper will get hands-on instructions in design elements, proportions, facial expressions and more. Camp session will run Tuesday, July 20-Friday, July 23, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. Mini reception will be on Saturday, July 24, from 12-1 p.m. Camp fees include: sketch books, pencils, snacks and a finished framed art work to display at the mini art reception.
