THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS: NORTON ART GALLERY PRIVATE TOURS now open to the public on a limited basis. THROUGH SEPT. 25: Bossier Arts Council is hosting their popular artists' call for a third time, “Contained Cubed,” the 12” x 12” show. Local artists can submit their works for this exhibition, and all works will be sold for $50. Artwork submitted will be juried by an anonymous gallery panel. $10 submission fee for non-members. Free submission for BAC members/students/military (must provide valid ID). All completed works must be dropped off by Sept. 25 at Bossier Arts Council, 630 Barksdale Blvd. Artworks will be on display in the East Bank Gallery from Oct. 1 until Nov. 30. JUNE 13 - FALL: GAME-PORT AND NASA EXHIBIT landing at Sci-Port. An exhibit of the evolution of games and digital gaming, from historic board games like Candy Land, checkers and backgammon to classic and newer digital games that can be played with a giant custom-made retro-inspired game controller. Interactive classic Pong game reimagined at Sci-Port for a hands-on experience. The Adventures of Intrigue will be hosting their version of gaming via an escape-room style game. Participants will be given clues to solve STEM-based riddles which revolve around the history and science of NWLA. Starting with brainstorming sessions and ending with mini art reception for all campers on Saturday, July 24, at 12 p.m. Each camper will get handson instructions in design elements, proportions, facial expressions and more.
