Three businesses opened to fanfare in the Louisiana Boardwalk on Aug. 2 when noted artist Eric Hess welcomed friends, guests and patrons to his new galley and creative venue. The downtown scene in Shreveport was happening on Aug. 11 as Louisiana Film Prize unveiled its Top 20 films moving forward to the festival taking place this Oct. 19 - 21. Filmmakers and film lovers from all over came to celebrate this suspenseful evening. Also that evening was the opening of artist Joe Bluhm’s exhibit at Artspace and an after-party bash at Pepito’s XO. – Paul Savage
