The LSU Health Sciences Foundation hosted its annual fundraising gala, An Evening for Healers, on Aug. 31. In its 12th year, the event has served as a platform to honor and celebrate the Shreveport-Bossier community’s first responders, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and other health care providers who each played a vital role in saving the lives of patients at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport (OLHS) while raising mission-critical funding. More than $4 million has been raised for LSU Health Shreveport. – Mark Crawford

The Sixth Annual Catahoula Wine Mixer was
hosted on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Windrush Park in the Provenance
neighborhood. At the outdoor event, guests could experience the
exquisite flavors of France, Italy, California, and Latin and South
America. Each region had a unique, festivallike atmosphere, serving
small plates from local chefs, wine selected by local sommeliers, and
entertainment from Victoria Wells, DJ Yoshi and others. – Mark Crawford
