CONTINUE TO SHINE OVER ARTBREAK

The McDonald’s family has been a part of the ArtBreak Festival since the early 1990s when Roy & Nelva Griggs saw an opportunity to make thousands of children smile! As Griggs Enterprises, they became major sponsors of the ArtBreak festival bringing more than 100 performances to life throughout the week on the headliner McDonald’s stage.

Upon Roy Griggs retirement, owneroperators, Tony Gilley, Debbie Gilley, and Tony Gilley Jr. of Gilley Enterprises, Inc.-McDonald’s added sixteen Shreveport-Bossier area McDonald’s to the 24 McDonald’s they already owned throughout Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. Soon after, the Gilley family met with the ArtBreak team and Caddo Parish Schools to see how they could work with ArtBreak to make sure that people know that Gilley Enterprises, Inc.-McDonald’s believes in investing in the future of our children.

“ArtBreak is a great way to give back to the community, to support the creativity of students, to allow many of our kids to exhibit their gifted artistic abilities,” says Owner-Operator Tony Gilley. “For thirty-eight years, SRAC has been allowing kids to showcase the quality of fine art through a rich diversity of culture and creativity. ArtBreak has created unification and sparked creativity and innovation in our kids. I’m certain it has also improved academic performance and has given many students the opportunity to have experienced and participated in ArtBreak. Many thanks to SRAC for giving Gilley Enterprises, Inc.-McDonald’s the opportunity to support, partner, and showcase our very own brand visibility, with the Golden Arches at ArtBreak 2024.”

Pam Atchison, who was a part of forming the first ArtBreak Festival in 1984, adds, “As ArtBreak attracts more and more national recognition as a S.T.E.A.M. educational festival based on making learning fun, it’s important that we nurture both the local and national corporate community. We are grateful that the Gilley family will continue the commitment made so long ago by the Griggs family and help the festival grow with exciting new elements in the McDonald’s decor and branding that will bring new verve to the festival and delight the children.”

A visit from the Hamburglar will make performing and viewing performances on the Gilley Enterprises/McDonald’s stage exciting for children of all ages.
