The 32nd Shreveport-Bossier-DeSoto African- American Scholarship Awards Banquet was held on Feb. 8, at the Morning Star Family Life Center. Jeff Hall, first African-American mayor of Alexandria, La., was the keynote speaker. Ten people from Northwest Louisiana were given the African-American Achievement Award.
