“ Dear Andy, I Hate My Job! I am in my early 30s and have been in the same line of work for about six years. For the past year or so, I have started to hate what I do, hate my boss, and some of my workmates often get on my last nerve. I don’t have the preferred college degree for my position, but the company hired me and pays me really well.

“Dear Andy, my parents and most of my family live here in town, but my husband’s family lives across the country. We are having a hard time figuring out how to share holiday time with both families. My husband really wants to see his parents and siblings, but my family really wants us here for the holidays.

A few weeks ago my girlfriend of nearly two years broke up with me. She told me she loved me, and we just weren’t right for each other. I was shocked! I thought we were good. She could not even give me specific reasons why she was dumping me. I even asked her to go to counseling together.

Over the years (since middle school), I have been on various exercise and diet plans and have often lost a lot of weight only to gain it all back, if not more. Recently, I was told by my doctor that both my blood sugar and blood pressure are high as well as other potential medical concerns.

“My 14-year-old son spends a lot of time on his phone and video games. He’s touchy about it and explodes when I ask him to get off his game or phone and spend more time with our family. He practically lives in his room with his door shut or in the den with us but ignoring us and on his phone.

the years I have enjoyed helping people through difficult times. I worked for the Dr. Phil show for several years, counseling many guests of the show and accompanying some of them on the program. I still enjoy being a recommended counselor referral on their website.
