There is no easy or difficult; only status quo and change. For far too long, the status quo for Caddo schools has been a managed decline of an aging and bloated footprint. Despite periodic and painful decommissioning of campuses, most recently EB Williams Stoner Hill Elementary, we’re still oversized by approximately 30%.

Willis-Knighton Health System has announced that James K. Elrod, president and chief executive officer, plans to retire effective Sept. 30. The board of directors has unanimously elected Jerry A. Fielder II (Jaf) to succeed Elrod as president and CEO.

A beautiful, historic home in the Highland Neighborhood sits prominently on the corner of Highland Avenue and Wyandotte Street. The original owners of this striking, two story house built in 1914 could never have imagined how this home would change the lives of more than 1,400 women.

As a result, Mooretown students will attend Oak Park Elementary starting this fall. Jack P. Timmons students will attend schools closer to their homes, including Blanchard Elementary, Donnie Bickham Middle, Walnut Hill Elementary/Middle and Turner Elementary/Middle.
