The Hatch Act of 1939, officially titled “An Act to Prevent Political Activities,” is a United States federal law that prohibits federal employees from specific forms of political activity. A 1940 amendment extended the act to include certain employees of state and local governments whose positions are primarily paid for by federal dollars.

Everyone knows that the body changes with time. It’s expected. Often, however, I hear from my female patients that they did not expect the changes that they’ve noticed in their urinary system, which for many, have significantly affected their lifestyle.

No one wakes up thinking, “Today will be the day my life changes forever.” For two young Shreveport residents who had their whole lives ahead of them, they never prepared for life as they knew it to change in an instant.
