Make your season brighter at Christmas in Roseland. Open through Dec. 23, Christmas in Roseland delights both children and adults with lights, fireworks and either events.

Shreveport’s Christmas in Roseland returned for its 41 st edition this year beginning on Nov. 29, according to American Rose Society Executive Director Claire Bissell. It will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 13 and open daily through Dec. 23. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Center.

On Dec. 13-15, the Christmas Market will be open with soaps, linen, wood products and handmade items to fill out your giving list. As usual, the annual display of Christmas Cards to the Community created by local school children with be on display as well. Light Up The Gardens will make your season bright every Saturday in December with a fireworks display leading up to the Firework Finale Show on Dec. 23, at 8:30 p.m., sponsored by Visit Shreveport-Bossier.

New this year are $25,000 of new lights and lighted displays. The Hadtner Chapel has been redecorated by Matthews Landscape. There’s also a new Giant Pixel Tree that sponsors and donors made possible this year.

Other special events on tap are:

• Mardi Gras in Roseland – Dec. 20, 7 p.m.

• Every night – First responders, medical field workers, active military, veterans, postal workers and delivery drivers receive $5 discount on admission with ID badge.

• Scout Appreciation Night – Friday, Dec. 6 All Scouts in uniform will receive $5 discount on admission.

• 5th annual Angel of Hope Candlelight Ceremony – Dec. 8, 6 p.m.

• Nature Ornament Workshop with Walter B. Jacobs Nature Park Saturday, Dec. 21, 1-4 p.m.

Pertinent fees:

• $10 per person or $30 family four-pack. Ages 2 and under are free.

• $15 per person or $45 family four-pack – every Saturday in December and the final night. Ages 2 and under are free.

• Admission good from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. (Park open 5:30-10 p.m.) Ages 2 and younger are free.

Visitors are able to purchase entry passes, Santa photos, train tickets and s’mores packets online prior to arrival.

You can also purchase tickets at the gate. This year’s title sponsor is Garrison’s Home & Garden Showplace. Other sponsors include Louisiana Office of Tourism, Visit Shreveport-Bossier, Red River Lights, Spell Brothers Lumber, Ticketsocket, and Townsquare Media.
