has completed a $7 million “break ground” capital campaign to begin construction on its new tournament-grade Youth Baseball and Softball Complex. The YMCA will continue to raise monies to reach the final project number. The capital campaign is a community-wide effort.

Carla Buntyn is a Shreveport native. She received her Bachelor of Business Management with a minor in business administration, a Master of Human Services, and a Ph.D. in criminal justice. Carla identified the urgency of needs for individuals who desired a second chance at success in the community and, in 2013, founded Compassion for Lives.

There is no easy or difficult; only status quo and change. For far too long, the status quo for Caddo schools has been a managed decline of an aging and bloated footprint. Despite periodic and painful decommissioning of campuses, most recently EB Williams Stoner Hill Elementary, we’re still oversized by approximately 30%.

Dr. Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Jr. is the administrator/CEO for the parish of Caddo, where he manages the daily functions of Caddo Parish government, overseeing eight departments and over 400 employees. He recently announced his retirement after 22 years of service to Caddo Parish.

For almost 100 years, Willis-Knighton has been responding to the health care needs of the local community. But that commitment extends beyond health care. A commitment to its neighbors – especially underserved, minority neighborhoods – is evident.
