building was originally a fire station, and the owners have done a great job keeping up with the increased demand for seating. They’ve enclosed what was an outdoor patio on the front and made a massive patio in the back. It’s a casual place to get a cool, locally brewed beer and a piping hot pizza on a crunchy crust.

Rhonda and Hank Anderson hosted an engagement party for Kathryn Davis and Morgan Wampold at the Shreveport Club on July 22. They will wed in New Orleans in October. Davis is the daughter of the Rev. Greg and Cynthia Davis.Breast cancer survivors from across North Louisiana gathered along with family and friends to celebrate life after cancer on July 22 at East Ridge Country Club. Breast cancer survivor Diane Guillot was the guest speaker for the Heroes in Pink-themed event.

The house has a long history that began after the Civil War. Mr. W.H. North, who migrated from the north to the Red River Valley during Reconstruction, originally built it in the 1880s. He purchased 4,000 acres of prime cotton land in the depressed economy and built the house on a bluff overlooking the Red River.
