“Our community is home to many outstanding, black-owned food businesses, many of which are also family-owned small businesses,” said Stacy Brown, president of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau.
There are a variety of tests for dysphagia. They include: an X-ray of a bariumcoated esophagus; direct examination of the esophagus with an endoscope, a lighted instrument; a test with a pressure recorder to measure muscle contractions of the esophagus; video fluoroscopy and ultrasound, two forms of imaging that record patients swallowing.
Maxwell’s Market, at 4861 Line Avenue in Shreveport, is selling food from these three local restaurants. It’s a gesture from market owner Ross Barclay – a way of helping friends in need, friends whose restaurant business has been significantly hurt by the closing of dining rooms.
