The Bossier Chamber of Commerce recognized leaders in the health care industry for their outstanding work and service to the Bossier-Caddo community at the Salute to Healthcare Awards set April 14 at Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City. Jan Elkins, community projects director for KTBS, served as the mistress of ceremonies. Both health care professionals and volunteers were recognized for their collective actions and extraordinary impact in the Bossier-Caddo health care community. The recipients’ acts of service represent a dedication to excellence in their area of expertise beyond the scope of everyday employment. Through commitment to their profession and community, the following award recipients serve as an inspiration to others as they work to improve the quality of health care and to discover new ways to assist those in need:
• Healthcare Professional of the Year Award: Lucy Grove, registered nurse, Willis-Knighton Hospice
• Healthcare Volunteer of the Year Award: Mac McMahen, Northwest Louisiana Interfaith Pharmacy
• Dr. John Miciotto Lifetime Achievement Award: James K. Elrod, president and CEO, Willis-Knighton Health System
