The annual Wayne Curtis Objets D’Art fundraiser for artist jury awards at the Red River Revel was a smashing hit. The evening of entertainment and art included an open bar and menu from Chef Craig Hamilton at Gullos at The Supper Club. The Mystick Krewe of Louisianans hosted the 76th Washington Mardi Gras event at the Washington Hilton, Jan. 23-25. Thursday night’s events included Louisiana Alive!, which showcased four different Louisiana bands, foods by chefs from all over Louisiana and more than five dozen sponsor booths throwing out all kinds of Mardi Gras treasures. Friday night’s festivities included a seated dinner. The Grand Bal was hosted on Saturday night, featuring a parade with multiple floats that traveled among the 3,000 attendees. — Mark Crawford

On Feb. 8, The Montessori School for Shreveport celebrated its 60th anniversary at The Petroleum Club. The 2025 Addy Awards was the theme of a mystery dinner, “Murder at Addy Manor” at the LSUS Ballroom, Feb. 19. The awards ceremony featured several clues to solve the who-done-it at the event. Arc Caddo-Bossier was selected as American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier’s spotlighted nonprofit at this year’s awards.

Doctors and patients spoke at the 2025 Go Red for Women Luncheon on Feb. 27 at the Shreveport Convention Center. The disco-era theme was about empowerment, self-expression and breaking barriers. Go Red debunks that heart disease is a man’s disease. With awareness, education and advocacy, lives are being saved.
